Overview
Morning dunes in the Viana Desert, sandboarding at Morro de Areia, Varandinha's caves, a swim at Santa Mónica and a tasting in the island's oldest village.
A five-hour 4x4 journey through the very best of southern Boa Vista. We start in the cool of the morning on the fine sand of the Viana Desert, then head to the giant dunes of Morro de Areia for sandboarding right above the sea. Along the coast you'll look out over Turtle & Shark Bay, explore the limestone caves of Varandinha and enjoy a long, relaxed swim at Santa Mónica. We finish in Povoação Velha, the oldest village on the island, with a free tasting of traditional grogue and sweet ponche.

Morro de Areia & sandboarding
Pure action: sandboarding down huge dunes right by the sea. We take our time for your photos, videos and plenty of fun.

Turtle & Shark Bay
A glimpse into the fascinating underwater world along the coast.
Turtle and shark sightings are a natural experience that depends on sea conditions, weather and tides, so they cannot be guaranteed.
Stop 4
Varandinha Beach
Explore the spectacular limestone caves on the Atlantic, with views over the turquoise sea and wild rock formations.
Stop 5
Santa Mónica Beach
A long break (about 40 minutes) at Cape Verde's most beautiful beach — time to swim, relax and enjoy the endless sand.
Stop 6
Povoação Velha — culture & free tasting
A relaxed finale in the island's oldest village, with a free tasting of traditional grogue, sweet ponche and juice for the children. Light snacks and extra drinks can be ordered on site at your own expense.
